Plastic surgery refers to the art of shaping pliable flesh. It’s a kind of reconstruction carried out by a surgeon in form of modification and improvement of the facial appearance, removal of burn scars, increasing efficiency and physical abilities of different organs and eradication of defects in a human body.

There are multiple types of plastic surgeries that has been introduced to the world which includes Facial and body aesthetic surgery to reshape the body features, Cosmetic surgery to improve one’s self-image for certain reasons , Burn surgery to remove burn scars from any part of body, Craniofacial surgery for treatment of craniofacial skeleton and soft tissues and fractures , Hand surgery for acute injuries and chronic diseases of the hand and wrist, Microsurgery for the reconstruction of missing tissues by putting sample tissues and connecting them with blood vessels to the surgical area, and Pediatric plastic surgery deals with syndromes and medical issues in children.
In past time, Surgeries were undertaken because of a medical reason but not now. In today’s era people undergo for a surgery to reshape their features as per the desire due to fashion or obsessed outlook concerns. Researchers believe that plastic surgery obsession is linked to psychological disorders and the major culprit for that is media and advertising’s role in influencing people's mindset. Body dimorphic disorder (BDD) is seen as a large disorder in the lives of those who are obsessed with plastic surgery in order to correct an apparent defect in their appearance. Women of today’s world are more infatuated towards cosmetic surgeries to improve their self image, outlook and appearance. In some cases, after cosmetic surgeries originality of individual gets comprised.
Obsession is linked to Psychological disorders due to which people go for various painful surgeries just to satisfy their possessed beliefs. During this satisfaction process, people don’t consider the risks and complications that can ruin their original appearances leading to worse. The Possible complications may include decreased blood pressure, excessive blood loss, blood clotting, rejection of implants, sensory change in or around the operation area, decolourisation of the skin, tissue necrosis, asymmetry, infection, formation of bad scar tissue, and allergic reactions to the anesthetic and various infections.
Tremendous growth of selfie trend has unfortunately boosted the reconstruction theme in youngsters. To maintain the not just good but perfect impression on social media through photos youngsters and other people are resorting to plastic surgery to fix imperfections like improper nose shape, unacceptable wrinkles or curves, or hands that don't look perfect for them for selfies or photos for instagram, facebook or others. These activities are done by people to gain attention of others towards their appearance and satisfy their internal needs.
